COURSE DESCRIPTION
According to the American Heart Association (AHA) ECC Guidelines, ECG recognition is a key skill required to successfuly determine a patient's condition and know which algorithm to apply. This course is designed for heatlhcare professionals preparing for ACLS certification or requiring remediation in ECG recognition.
Perfect for credentialed healthcare providers who either must or wish to supplement their training, this comprehensive course presents information on basic electrophysiology, normal ECG measurements, basic arrhythmias, basic ACLS drugs, usage and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies, and how to integrate basic drug pharmacology into ACLS algorithms.
OBJECTIVES
Following this program, the participants can be expected to:
1.Describe the anatomy of the cardiovascular system.
2.List the components of the cardiac conduction system.
3.Relate the normal durations of the cardiac cycle.
4.State the basic steps used to analyze a rhythm strip.
5.Describe electrode placements for monitoring leads MCL-1 MCL-6 and Lead II.
6.Analyze the characteristics and hemodynamics of the basic Arrhythmias.
7.Identify arrhythmias from practice strips.
8.Discuss arrhythmias treatment and modalities to use.
