Program overview

This program is designed to improve the care of cardiovascular including, but not limited to, sleep apnea and stress on the heart, stress test modalities, updated treatments for stemi, update on thoracic aortic aneurisms, review management of devices for heart failure and the importance of cardiac rehab for heart failure patients and transplant surgery.

Objectives

  • Identify difference between thoracic aortic aneurism and dissection.
  • Examine ascending, descending and aortic root pathology.
  • Explore current surgical repairs
  • Explore the risks and benefits of various stress testing modalities.
  • Examine the impact sleep apnea has on the functioning of the heart.
  • Examine how evidence-based guidelines and protocols improve patient STEMI management.
  • Determine transplant patient's post operative treatments and goals.
  • Determine normal expectations for assessments and lab value.
  • Examine the complications that can occur post transplant.
  • Examine pathophysiology of congestive heart failure (CHF).
  • Identify how mechanical device can improve CHF.
  • Develop an appropriate and effective treatment plan for patients in cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Identify key components of patient engagement and patient assessment in cardiac rehabilitation.
